Client Interview: Tech Team for Transportation Mobile App Development

Oksana Zabolotna
HBD at Qubit Labs

Among other dedicated teams that are working in Qubit Labs, there is a team that develops a mobile transportation app for a startup. It’s a premium substitute for public transportation. This client has been working with us for 3 years already and we continue our successful cooperation now. Even in such hard times Qubit Labs delivers the best services for our old and new clients to build long-term relations and reach project goals.

Using Bussr app, you can reserve your seat on a clean, air-conditioned, and high-quality bus. A startup goal is to provide reliable and affordable everyday commutes.

Qubit Labs is proud to be part of this project, and we decided to ask their CPO I.M Shousha how he feels about working with Qubit Labs and hiring a dedicated development team for his project in Ukraine. We have been working together for 3 years now and decided to ask him about cooperation with us. Today we are happy to introduce our new interview.

Shousha is a technology/digital products strategist & operations consultant with 15 years of experience in digital and IT products management, an expert in designing and managing customer-centric disruptive technology products to various industries.

Q: Hi Shousha, happy to see you. Please tell us more about the project?

We are the main bus healing company in Southeast Asia. We are now present in seven countries, started at the beginning of the year and now we are over 100 people. We aim to change the transportation landscape in Southeast Asia and to make it easier for people to take buses.

Q: How long have you been working with Qubit Labs?

We have been working with Qubit Labs since May 2019 but it feels like yesterday when we just met and started to work straight away.

Q: Is that your first experience at such cooperation?

Yeah, in this way, yes, it’s first. I’ve been working with outsourcing companies before and technology consulting for some time. But the way Quit Labs hang things and flexibility they show it’s unprecedented for me. That’s why we are here.

Q: Why did you choose Ukraine and Ukrainian developers?

It was a difficult decision; we wanted to hire experienced dedicated developers, so we made a research among the regions. Ukraine came out as one with the top countries to hire developers, and at the same time, we can scale. It was essential for us and the future as well, because we want to stay in Ukraine as much as we can.

Q: Have your expectations been fulfilled?

So far, so good. There are always bumps everywhere. We have a very good team now, we are scaling the team, and I think we will reach our targets very soon.

Q: What has changed with your project?

Well, how much time do you have? We implement changes every day; that’s the nature of startup development. We react to whatever customers and users and market requests, and the business needs are, so every day, we have different needs, implement different changes. When customers need new features we test, sometimes they don’t like something, so we always change. That is the whole idea of the agile environment. That is why you need great and responsive developers to deliver things very fast, and this is what we found here in Ukraine.

Q: Are you happy working with Qubit Labs?

Yes, I am happy; that’s why I am here. I think flexibility and response are very satisfying, and Qubit Labs want to help you with the business. I always tell Iva that she is very customer-centric. So, they are always responsive, plus they make a lot of things easier: recruitment was easier, HR was easier, finding an office was easier, overall it’s pleasant experience.

Q: What plans do you have for the future?

The plan for the future is to extend a team; the next step is to hire a rocket “scientist team.” It would be more difficult to find because these people must be Phds, but we believe that we can find plenty in Ukraine. Right now, we are building a core team.
