Frontend Developer (SAP UI5/Fiori)

Role Overview

The Frontend Developer (SAP UI5/Fiori) is a key member of an Agile Scrum Team (10+ members) operating within an Agile Release Train (ART). The role focuses on developing intuitive, scalable, and high-quality user interfaces using SAP UI5 and Fiori design principles. The developer works closely with backend developers, Product Owners, and UX stakeholders to deliver seamless end-to-end user experiences for applications built on SAP BTP and deployed on Cloud Foundry. The role uses JIRA for backlog management and GitHub for version control and CI/CD collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive web applications using SAP UI5 and Fiori principles
• Implement user interfaces based on business requirements, mockups, and user stories
• Integrate frontend components with backend services (CAP, APIs, OData)
• Ensure adherence to SAP Fiori design guidelines and UX best practices
• Optimize application performance, usability, and accessibility
• Collaborate with backend developers, QA engineers, and DevOps for end-to-end delivery
• Participate in code reviews and ensure maintainable and high-quality frontend code
• Support testing activities and collaborate on UI test automation where applicable
• Contribute to Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement activities

Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong experience in SAP UI5 and Fiori application development
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern web development practices
• Understanding of OData and REST API integration
• Familiarity with SAP BTP and Cloud Foundry environments
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD workflows
• Knowledge of responsive design and UX/UI principles
• Understanding of Agile methodology and Scrum practices
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills

Experience and Qualifications

• Typically 3–6 years of experience in frontend or UI development
• Proven experience with SAP UI5/Fiori applications is required
• Experience in Agile Scrum teams within ART environments is beneficial
