We offer a free platform for companies and specialists. Organizations can post job openings, and job seekers can find tech positions that match their skills and experience. With a convenient filter function, individuals can sort technology jobs by keywords, location, field, job format, English level, and type of employment. Besides, we offer a Telegram channel with jobs for juniors and those just starting in the IT industry.

FAQs

Why are women in tech so important?

Women in tech implement cutting-edge solutions and play a pivotal role in transforming businesses. Here are women in tech statistics 2024.

  • Female workforce can increase productivity and profits. McKinsey’s report reveals that women in senior leadership positions can result in up to 50% higher earnings and performance shares.
  • Women can bring fresh ideas to develop products and help reach a wider audience. By 2028, women will control 75% of discretionary spending, making them the world’s biggest influencers. Therefore, they better understand key market trends and what products are in demand. This wealth of experience can help consumer goods companies expand their audience and increase profits.
  • Collaborating with people of different genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and races allows for diverse ways of thinking, strategies for company growth, and better identification of the target audience’s pain points.

Why are women underrepresented in tech?

  • The role of pop culture and social stereotypes influence women’s decisions to pursue tech careers. From an early age, young girls are encouraged to take “safer” paths in life and opt for more female-friendly jobs. “Most women think technology is more like a boys’ club, and they will not fit in. There is also the stereotype that people in technology are geeky and socially awkward,” says Regina Agyare, the founder and CEO of Soronko Solutions.
  • Gender bias and stereotypes that men are more rational and have better analytical skills lead women to assume that tech jobs are not for them.
  • The educational field offers a limited number of technology courses in schools. Consequently, fewer women are deciding to pursue a career in IT.
  • Many women in male-dominated fields face sexism, have limited opportunities to advance in their careers, and often face a gender wage gap.

Are women leaving the tech industry faster than men?

  • Weak corporate culture
  • Discontent with a specific job
  • Seeking a job outside of technology
  • Absence of diversity

According to Women in Technology statistics, 56% of women leave the tech industry 10-20 years after starting their careers. This rate is double that of men. A lack of work-life balance and poor industry culture are the main reasons impacting their decisions.

Why AI is an opportunity for women in tech

As AI researchers, women may contribute significantly to advanced computer vision, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence. They may develop new algorithms, improve AI models, and hone state-of-the-art AI technologies.

What are some common challenges faced by women in tech?

  • Women in tech face pay inequality. A study published by the compensation platform Ravio claims that women in European technology make 26% less money than their male counterparts.
  • Discrimination is another significant challenge for women. A 2023 survey conducted by Web Summit, a software company, found that the number of respondents reporting gender disparity rose over 2022, with over half reporting workplace sexism.
  • Many women consider themselves unworthy of STEM occupations, even if their skills and expertise are the opposite. Around 75% of American women executives suffer from imposter syndrome. The underlying reasons are lack of employer support, microaggression at the workplace, low self-esteem, and discrimination.
